1964 FORD FALCON XP COUPE

Model Overview:

The Ford Falcon XP Coupe, produced between 1964 and 1966, is a classic Australian car known for its sleek design and solid performance. It features a swept back smooth, rounded body with a distinctively stylish front grille, chrome accents and beautifully sculptured tail lamps. The XP Coupe was available in a two-door pillarless configuration, offering a sporty yet elegant appearance. The interior boasted a spacious and comfortable cabin with 60’s style, making it a popular choice among car enthusiasts and collectors for its blend of vintage charm and reliable performance.

Garage Find – A 1964 XP Coupe with custom styling and modified mechanicals. Featuring a 302 Windsor V8 with a C4 automatic transmission sending power to a Ford 8″ differential. Front disc brakes with larger than stock rear drum brakes are fitted. Rear wheel arches have been radiused and flared, with the bonnet having Louvres pressed into the metal. Engine heads were reconditioned before it was parked in a dry garage and sat for 10 years. Was engineered and registered with V8 in NSW and VIC. Easily resurrected as it has little corrosion. Great looking car, needing a new owner to show some love.

Mechanical:

Ford 302 Windsor V8 / Ford C4 Automatic Transmission / Ford 8″ differential / Front Disc Brakes / Dragway Wheels and BFG Tyres.

Body:

Louvered Bonnet / Radiused & Flared Rear Wheel Arches / Good Chrome Trim & Grille / straight body with various imperfections ( LH rear quarter has paint cracking – not corrosion ), all glass in good condition & window seals good. Missing boot lock.

Interior:

Good Vinyl / Leather interior seating with drivers seat showing area needing rectifying. Dashboard Gauges all seem fine and dash top excellent. Door cards are ok, head lining is good, rear parcel good, windows operation great with good trim & seals.

Summary:

Good looking example that was a great car when it was parked in the garage 10 years ago. Has NOT been started since. The Engine turns freely by hand and the Brakes work as they should. Was registered with modifications in NSW & VIC previously. Wouldn’t take too much to get running again and driving down the road with the right person. Cool car!

Inspection is welcomed at the Chicane Auctions Showroom by Appointment.
Monday – Friday 10:00 am – 4:30 pm
Saturday 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Buyers Premium & Payment:

6.5% of Winning Bid Amount. (GST Inc.) Debited from Auction Winners Bank Card as deposit.
Example: $50,000 Winning Bid + Buyers Premium $3,250 (6.5%) = $53,250 AUD Total Amount.

The Winning Bidder will be sent an Invoice to be paid within 5 Days. Payment is by Bank Transfer.

How to Bid:

• Register & become a Verified Bidder.
• Bids must be at least $250 higher than the current bid. You may enter a higher bid at any time.
• When placing a Bid, do not use a ‘comma mark’. ( Example $10000 equals $10,000 )
•  If Reserve Price is Met, a yellow banner will say “Reserve Met” on the Lot Auction Page.
• Auction will extend by another 2 Minutes, if a bid is placed within 2 minutes of Auction End.

If the Reserve Price is not met, only the highest bidder has first right to negotiate any purchase.

Transport:

Fully Enclosed Transport is easily arranged for interstate buyers, throughout Australia. Buyer is responsible for cost.

Vehicle information is provided to us by the Vendor. Each Vehicle is to be personally verified by the Bidder, for its Condition & Authenticity. The Chicane team review all vehicles at our Showroom for internal checks & auction suitability, not of a qualified inspector, mechanic or other professional.  Due to age, Classic Cars can have many unseen flaws. Odometer readings can be incorrect & are unverified. We Highly advise to inspect any Vehicle before bidding, as Items are sold as is, without cooling off period under Victorian LMCT Auction Guidelines. GST will not be added to, or included in, the final bid price of this item. GST is included in the buyers premium. All Vehicles are sold unregistered unless otherwise stated. All cars have a clear PPSR and are sold without finance owing or on the Written Off Vehicle Register.
