The 1955 – 1957 Chevrolet Tri-Five range has earned itself an unmistakable classic car icon status for two reasons – the fantastic styling and introduction of the powerful small-block V8 engine.

A rare model offered at the time was the  2 Door Chevrolet Handyman, a classic sports wagon with only 18,000 made in 1957. This true embodiment of mid-century American stylistic automotive design, captures the essence of the era with its sleek lines, chrome accents, and the unmistakable ‘57 Chev’ big wing style.

The 2 Door Handyman wagon was crafted for both utility and sports flair. Its spacious interior accommodates up to six passengers comfortably with rear seat wind down windows, making it ideal for family outings or a sports allrounder. The rear cargo area offers ample room for anything you need to transport, highlighting the wagon’s versatility.

Powered by a stock Chevrolet 307 V8 running a Holley 465cfm Carburettor with a Holley Street Dominator Manifold, connected to a Tremec T5 5 Speed Gearbox. Power Steering, Power Boosted front Disc brakes, renewed suspension from Shock absorbers to bushes throughout including a rear sway bar fitted, recent exhaust, electric wipers, functioning heater and Air Conditioning system. All serviced, well set up, sorted and ready to cruise.

Body:

Featuring a nice and straight Body without visible corrosion. Underbody clean and without corrosion evident. Door and hatch openings straight and true. Bel Air Side trim fitted and Chrome work in decent polishable condition without being show perfect. Slight stone chips around body as any driven car does. A Solid driver car.

Interior:

Interior renewed 5 years ago with exterior matching Blue & White upholstery, Ivory roof lining and light blue carpeting. Dashboard fitted with modern ‘Classic Instruments’ direct fitment with Fuel, Temp, RPM, Oil pressure and Speedometer designed for this year model Chevrolet. Nice big AirCond system and even the Bel Air dashboard clockworks. Rear Cargo area is fitted with black carpet.

Owned by an experienced mechanic for over 10 years. Currently Victorian Club Registered – Non Transferable.

Inspection available at the Chicane Auctions Showroom by Appointment.
Monday – Friday 10:00 am – 4:30 pm
Saturday 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Buyers Premium & Payment:

BP 6.5% of Winning Bid Amount. (GST Inc.) Debited from Auction Winners Bank Card as deposit.
Example: $50,000 Winning Bid + Buyers Premium $3,250 (6.5%) = $53,250 AUD Total Amount.

The Winning Bidder will be sent an Invoice to be paid within 5 Days. Payment is by Bank Transfer.

How to Bid:

• Register & become a Verified Bidder.
• Bids must be at least $250 higher than the current bid. You may enter a higher bid at any time.
• When placing a Bid, do not use a ‘comma mark’. ( Example $10000 equals $10,000 )
•  If Reserve Price is Met, a yellow banner will say “Reserve Met” on the Lot Auction Page.
• Auction will extend by another 2 Minutes, if a bid is placed within 2 minutes of Auction End.

If the Reserve Price is not met, only the highest bidder has first right to negotiate any purchase.

Conditions of Sale:

Vehicle information is provided to us by the Vendor. Each Vehicle is to be personally verified by the Bidder, for its Condition & Authenticity. The Chicane team check-over the vehicles for internal checks & auction suitability only, not of a qualified inspector, mechanic or other professional.  Classic Cars can have many unseen flaws & Odometer readings can be incorrect.  Vehicles may have been sitting for some time and it is suggested that to protect your investment, you allow to change fuel, oil, fluids, filters and inspect brakes prior to use. We Strongly advise to inspect Vehicles before bidding, as Items are sold as is, without cooling off period under Victorian LMCT Auction Guidelines.
