1968 FORD MUSTANG FASTBACK

This 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback has undergone a significant restoration process inside and out. Great attention has been given to restoring this Fastback Stang to a high standard, blending vintage muscle car aesthetics with enhanced driving performance all round.

Fastback Design

The 1968 Mustang Fastback was a popular model among enthusiasts, particularly in its fastback form. Equipped with the lighter weight 302 Windsor V8, the C-Code offered a balance of performance and drivability, making it a sought-after choice for buyers looking for a blend of power and everyday usability.

The fastback design became an icon of American muscle cars, famously featured in movies and cementing its place in automotive history. With its aggressive styling, sloping roofline, and impressive road presence, the 1968 Mustang fastback remains a highly desirable classic.

Mechanical Enhancements

This Mustang is powered by a 302 Windsor V8, which has been rebuilt and fitted with mild  performance upgrades, including a warm cam, Weiand intake manifold and a Holley 4-barrel carburettor. The car is equipped with a C10 automatic transmission, offering reliable power delivery. Power is sent to a 3.25:1 LSD 9″ differential for excellent strength.

Braking and Suspension

The vehicle is fitted with Four-Wheel Disc brakes, accompanied by a new brake booster. A brand-new Borgeson power steering box has been fitted for precise steering, enhancing the overall driving experience. The front and rear suspension have been renewed with Koni shocks, providing a responsive and stable ride. The exhaust system includes a 2 ¼-inch setup, giving the car a signature V8 sound.

Refreshed Interior

Inside, the car features a nicely renewed interior, including seats, door trims, carpet, dash and headlining, with a fold-down rear seat and deluxe console. The gauges and wiring have been updated from front to rear for added reliability.

Exterior Restoration

Finished in Ford Shockwave Blue, this Fastback presents a standout look. The bodywork has undergone extensive restoration, for a corrosion free vehicle.

The interior panels have been rust-proofed and cavity-waxed.

A GT hood with working blinkers is fitted for a period-correct appearance.

The car sits on 17×8″ Eleanor Halibrand style wheels, complementing its classic muscle car stance.

• When placing a Bid, do not use a ‘comma mark’. ( Example $10000 equals $10,000 )

• Auction will extend by another 2 Minutes, if a bid is placed within 2 minutes of Auction End.

*If the Reserve Price is not met, only the highest bidder has first right to negotiate any purchase.

These reviews are not conducted by qualified inspectors, mechanics, or other professionals.
