1975 Holden HJ Monaro GTS

Overview:

The release of the HJ Monaro GTS Coupe in October 1974 was marked by extensive facelifts both inside and out. Notably, its redesigned front end drew inspiration from the 1970–1972 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, a standout in NASCAR racing and GM’s flagship in America at the time.

The HJ GTS Coupe’s only engine choice was the locally built and Australian-designed 308cc 5.0LT V8 engine, a pinnacle of Holden’s engineering prowess. This engine, equipped with new mandatory pollution control equipment, matched the power output of its predecessor, the Chevrolet 350.

The HJ Monaro GTS series bid farewell to body paint-outs and introduced optional front and rear spoilers, elevating its racing aesthetics and performance stance. Inside, the GTS Coupe boasted a more modern GTS Dashboard and premium interior appointments, ensuring a proper sporting & luxurious driving experience.

With only 606 units produced, the HJ Monaro GTS coupé stands as a rare and highly sought-after collectible today, a testament to its limited production and enduring appeal among enthusiasts.

Vehicle:

This Car is a true 1980’s Hotrod hero in great condition! Starting with a Rare 1975 HJ GTS Coupe, this car now features a WB Statesman Front & REAR end lovingly fabricated to high quality standard during a bare metal restoration 14+ years ago. This car is not all show, as it sports a 450hp  Chevrolet 383Ci roller Crate motor, Turbo 400 Auto & 9” LSD Differential. Topped of with Full GTS Interior & Original Cragar Mags, this car has its own style.

Mechanical:

Powered by a crate 450hp Chevrolet 383 V8 engine fitted in 2010 with less than 10,000 Klms travelled since. Factory fitted Turbo 400 Transmission now sends power to a Ford 9″ LSD rear.

Interior:

Full Holden HJ GTS Black Vinyl with Red Striping seating fitted & presents in excellent condition. Full woodgrain GTS dash, woodrim steering wheel and Black headlining complete the two door cabins appeal.

Exterior:

Featuring a Custom WB Statesman Deville front & rear end in a popular style of a previous era in Australian Street Machine trends. Love it or hate it, this cars panels have been very well fabricated & painted professionally in a color similar to Flamenco Red. Very straight & presented in great condition. Stand out in the crowd with this true Aussie conversation starter.

Bidding is in $250 Increments. Our system will extend the Auction by 2 Minutes if a bid is placed within 2 minutes of Auction End.

We use an Autobid system. Place your highest bid & Autobid will increase your bid by $250 increments up to your highest bid amount, ONLY if another bidder is competing with you & bids up to that amount. In the case of a tie bid, precedence is given to the earliest bid.
