MODEL OVERVIEW:
The 1961 Ford F-100 was part of Ford’s fourth-generation F-Series, a line of tough, no-nonsense workhorses that helped cement the F-Series as a best-seller. By ’61, Ford had transitioned the F-100 to a more traditional body-on-frame layout (after experimenting with unibody construction in earlier years), which gave it greater durability and versatility for work or recreation. Styling was clean and squared-off, with a wide grille, simple chrome accents, and a functional, utilitarian cab. Buyers could choose from straight-six or V8 engines, paired with manual or automatic transmissions, giving the F-100 the balance of reliability and power needed for both farm and suburban use. Today, the 1961 F-100 is admired by collectors for its classic early-’60s looks.

Offered is this fantastic old-school custom 61 F100 hotrod that blends a Holden HZ 1-Tonner chassis with the iconic Ford F100 cab and side-step tub, all professionally engineered and certified as a Modified Production Vehicle. Under the bonnet, the Holden 308ci V8 is paired with a Turbo 350 automatic and 10 bolt diff. Inside, the bright red custom trim features bucket seats, full instrumentation and a JVC sound system, while the exterior adds practicality with a lockable hard lid and drop-down tailgate.
Previously registered in both NSW and Victoria and sold with supplied engineering certification, it’s a head-turning street machine. The F100 will rattle windows on cruise night, draw a crowd at the local show, and make a run to Bunnings feel like a Saturday night show meet.
DRIVE - LINE:
Beneath the bonnet is Holden’s 308 cubic-inch V8, paired with a Turbo 350 three-speed automatic transmission and driving through a Salisbury 10-bolt V8 differential. Breathing through extractors and a twin chrome side-exit exhaust, it delivers strong performance with a great V8 soundtrack. The engine is currently set up to run on straight LPG, but is also supplied with its 100-litre alloy drop tank and all fitment brackets supplied, with the original fuel lines remaining intact to make conversion back to petrol simple. Supporting the drivetrain is the original Holden HZ suspension, steering, and braking system. Air-conditioning is also fitted for extra comfort.
EXTERIOR:
The bodywork combines the classic Ford F100 cab with a custom side-step tub. The result is a seamless integration that looks as good as it drives. Sitting low over 17-inch Speedy mag wheels, the F100 body cuts a tough stance, the wide guards and lowered ride height giving it real presence. A lockable hard lid and drop-down tailgate add everyday practicality, while the overall look blends custom style in a way that turns heads wherever it’s driven or parked.
INTERIOR:
Inside, the cabin is a real eye opener, featuring a full dash trimmed in red leather and fitted with the full array of instrumentation including tachometer, oil, temperature, fuel and volt gauges. The red seats and door trims together with the dash, create a striking contrast against the exterior, giving the interior a true hot rod feel. Adding to the experience, a quality JVC sound system is neatly integrated along with Air-conditioning, blending classic custom style with modern usability.
