1976 FORD FALCON XB GT TRIBUTE

MODEL OVERVIEW:

The Ford Falcon XB, produced from 1973 to 1976, represents one of the most iconic evolutions of Australia’s homegrown Falcon lineage. Distinguished from the previous XA Model by its revised front-end treatment featuring a more aggressive grille, the XB carried through the long-wheelbase, wide-track stance that defined Ford’s dominance in the local full-size market during the early 1970s. Offered across a broad range from Falcon 500 through to the performance-focused GT, the XB could be specified with inline six-cylinder engines or V8 powerplants, most notably the thundering Geelong built 351 Cleveland units. It gained lasting cultural significance through its association with Australian touring car competition and later global recognition via its starring role in the Mad Max films.

1976 FORD FALCON XB GT TRIBUTE – 408 CLEVELAND V8

* 640HP – 10 SECOND STREET CAR
* 408ci CLEVELAND – BUILT DRIVELINE
* MENACING STANCE – CROWD FAVOURITE

A true Aussie street machine with the performance to back its presence, this 1976 Ford Falcon XB GT Tribute is a serious, turn-key street and strip weapon.

Powered by a Competition Engines-built 408ci Cleveland V8, producing a dyno proven 640 horsepower, this car delivers brutal acceleration and 10 -second quarter mile capability, all on pump fuel.

The engine is paired with a heavy-duty C10 automatic transmission, upgraded with a TCI Stage 2 valve body and 5000rpm stall converter, supported by an external cooler for reliability under load.

Power is delivered through a shortened Ford 9-inch rear end, fitted with a Detroit Locker, 31-spline axles and 4.11 gears, along with a 4-inch tailshaft, ensuring the driveline is built to handle the performance.

The car has been set up to put the power down effectively, featuring upgraded suspension with adjustable traction bars, making it a well-sorted and capable street and strip package.

Highly presentable with a tough, aggressive stance, this XB delivers the full street machine look — a car that consistently turns heads and draws a crowd wherever it goes.

Inside, the car features a GT-style interior in excellent condition, including dash, console and steering wheel, offering a clean and functional driver-focused environment.

The body remains straight and well presented, with paintwork completed over 20 years ago & now showing various age-related blemishes — consistent with a car built to be driven and enjoyed.

A claimed 10-second Aussie street fighter with serious horsepower, strong presentation and undeniable presence — built to be driven, not just displayed.
