MODEL OVERVIEW:
Affordable, stylish, and endlessly customizable, the 1966 Mustang Convertible embodied mid-’60s American motoring freedom and quickly became one of the most popular and enduring classics of all time. Following the sensational launch of the Mustang in 1964, the ’66 model year refined the formula with cleaner styling, improved interior appointments, and an unmatched variety of options to suit every buyer. With over a million Mustangs sold in its first two years, the Convertible stood out as the most glamorous body style, embodying the spirit of freedom and fun that made the car a cultural phenomenon.
AUCTION CAR:
On offer is a 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible, converted to right-hand drive and presented as a clean, well-sorted classic ready to enjoy. Originally built as a factory C-Code V8 example, this Mustang combines American muscle charm with V8 performance, making it a standout cruiser for summer driving or weekend club runs. It has just been freshly serviced and benefits from many new parts fitted throughout to ensure reliability and usability.
DRIVE-LINE:
Powering this convertible is Ford’s trusted 289 cubic-inch Windsor V8, the correct specification for a C-Code Mustang, paired with a smooth-shifting C4 automatic transmission. The driveline is complemented by power steering, providing ease of use around town and on longer journeys, while front disc brakes ensure dependable stopping power. Recent servicing and attention to mechanical detail mean the car runs and drives as it should.
EXTERIOR:
Finished in a rich dark red, the bodywork presents well, with good panel fit and paint depth that sets off the Mustang’s timeless silhouette. The power-operated convertible roof is trimmed in cream white vinyl, providing a stylish contrast and operating smoothly at the touch of a switch. Chrome bumpers, whitewall tyres and brightwork shine, while the classic Mustang badging and detailing remain in place to underline its heritage. Overall, the car delivers a sharp yet elegant street presence.
INTERIOR:
Inside, the Mustang features black vinyl trim that contrasts neatly with the dark red exterior. Bucket seats, tidy door trims, and factory-style dash layout give an authentic 1960s feel. The interior is in clean and tidy order, presenting comfortably for everyday use or weekend drives. The black cabin is further complemented by the cream convertible roof lining when raised, giving a classic dual-tone presentation.
SUMMARY:
This 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible represents an excellent opportunity to secure an iconic classic, ready to enjoy. A genuine C-Code V8 example, right-hand-drive converted and equipped with power steering, disc brakes, and power roof, it has all the right ingredients for relaxed top-down motoring. Freshly serviced and presented in an eye-catching colour combination of dark red paint, black vinyl interior and cream roof, this Mustang is a turn-key collectible that blends timeless appeal with practical usability.
