1971 FORD FALCON XY GT - SOLD: $300,000 +BP

MODEL OVERVIEW

Forged in the heat of competition and unleashed on roads in 1970, the Ford Falcon XY GT remains one of the greatest legends of the Australian muscle car era. Powered by the D block 4V 351ci Cleveland V8 and rock-solid driveline, the XY GT wasn’t just built to perform — it was built to win. And win it did, conquering the 1971 Bathurst 500 and etching its name into Australian motorsport history. With its signature ‘Shaker’ induction scoop snarling through the bonnet and Bathurst-bred engineering under the skin, the XY GT became a symbol of power, pride, and performance. Produced for only two years, the XY GT was built in very limited numbers — 757 units in 1970, 800 in 1971 and 300 units of the ultimate Phase III variant. An icon of Australian motoring culture.
