MODEL OVERVIEW:
To celebrate the 30 year Anniversary of the Falcon GT, Ford Australia launched the EL Series II GT in 1997. The EL platform was further enhanced by Ford’s high-performance partner, Tickford Vehicle Engineering, to deliver new benchmarks in ride, handling, and road grip.
Power came from a fully imported 5.0-litre Windsor V8 fitted with GT40 heads, producing a high torque 200kW. Visually, the EL GT stood apart with its aggressive body kit, functional bonnet scoop, and unique aero enhancements that may make this model a future stand-out in coming years.
Glenn Seton won the ATCC championship in his EL Falcon with Jason Bright and Steven Richards winning Bathurst in 1998 in their EL Falcon.
Only 272 examples were built in total. Each car is individually numbered, making the EL GT a distinctive addition to any Falcon GT stable.

The EL GT was equipped with a Hydratrak limited-slip differential and a Carbon Fibre tailshaft, upgraded GT specification suspension and unique Tickford-developed chassis tuning with factory 17-inch wheels, ensuring sharp handling and confident road manners — a benchmark for local sedans at the time.
EXTERIOR:
This vehicle retains 100% original paintwork and all original body panels. As expected of unrestored original paint, stone chips are present consistent with its mileage and country car use. The Sparkling Burgundy finish still presents with depth and metallic lustre, and all EL GT-specific body kit components including the front and rear spoilers, side skirts, and bonnet vents remain intact and in excellent condition.
INTERIOR:
The dark grey leather interior remains in very good condition throughout, showing minimal wear and no noticeable marks or damage. The dashboard, instrument cluster, and switchgear present clean, crisp, and unblemished. All GT trim details including the numbered build plaque 101 on the door trims, premium sound system and power accessories remain as delivered. The factory-optioned electric sunroof is functional with carpets, headlining, and trim plastics show only very light age consistent with a well-kept car. Overall, the cabin reflects the careful ownership history and low mileage of this special vehicle.
