Chicane Auctions' August 2025 Collector, Performance & Rare Car Auction concluded on Thursday, 28 August, delivering a strong result with a 92% auction closing rate and all 13 vehicles ultimately finding new owners following post-auction negotiations.

Featuring an impressive selection of Australian muscle cars, American classics, professionally built hot rods and European performance vehicles, the auction attracted collector interest across a broad range of automotive categories.

Australian muscle cars featured prominently, including a genuine 1972 Holden HQ SS finished in factory Lettuce Alone, a 1976 Holden HX LE Coupe, a 1974 Holden LH Torana SL/R 5000 and a 1978 Holden HZ GTS. The selection also included a 1977 Holden LX Torana Hatchback and a modified 1960 Holden FB Ute powered by a Chevrolet 327ci V8.

One of the standout results was an exceptional 1934 Ford 5-Window Coupe Hot Rod, featuring a supercharged 392ci Chrysler Hemi V8, which achieved $155,000. A striking 1933 Ford 5-Window Coupe, also powered by a 392ci Hemi V8, further demonstrated the calibre of specialist hot rods represented in the auction.

American performance cars were also represented by a right-hand-drive 1973 Chevrolet Corvette and a 1979 Chevrolet Camaro, alongside a 2000 RCM AC Cobra S/C recreation.

European performance was represented by a 2012 Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG, featuring AMG's 5.5-litre twin-turbocharged V8, Performance Package and low recorded kilometres.
