JANUARY 2025 CLASSIC CAR AUCTION — RESULTS

30 JANUARY 2025 | 92% CLEARANCE RATE

Chicane Auctions commenced 2025 with an impressive Collector, Performance & Rare Car Auction, achieving a 92% clearance rate with 11 of the 12 vehicles offered finding new owners.

Headlining the auction was an extraordinary 1970 Ford Falcon XY GT Shed Find, which achieved $236,000. This remarkable Yellow Ochre example had remained largely untouched and off the road for more than 50 years, retaining its original black GT interior and showing just over 24,000 miles. Its exceptional preservation and one-owner history made it one of the standout Australian muscle car discoveries offered through Chicane Auctions.

Australian performance Fords continued to attract strong interest, with a genuine 1967 Ford Falcon XR GT achieving $145,100, while a 1972 Ford Falcon XA GT sold for $125,250. A desirable 1972 Holden HQ Monaro GTS also delivered an impressive result, achieving $109,000.

European collector vehicles were strongly represented, led by a beautifully presented 1983 Porsche 930 Turbo, finished in Guards Red, which found a new owner for an undisclosed amount. A modified 1983 Porsche 911 SC Cabriolet achieved $51,000, while a classic 1988 Mercedes-Benz 560SEC sold for $44,250.

American classics and modern performance vehicles also featured prominently, including a 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt achieving $73,750, a beautifully presented right-hand-drive 1956 Ford Thunderbird selling for $56,888, and a 1928 Ford Tourer achieving $58,000.

Representing the later years of Australian performance car production, a limited-edition 2007 FPV BF Mk II GT Cobra R-Spec achieved $72,000, further demonstrating collector interest across different generations of Australian muscle cars.

The January results highlighted Chicane Auctions' ability to research, present and market a diverse range of collector vehicles, from historically significant Australian muscle cars and rare barn finds to European sports cars, American classics and modern performance icons.
