MARCH 2025 CLASSIC CAR AUCTION RESULTS

Chicane Auctions – March Classic Car Auction Wrap-Up

Chicane Auctions closed out its March Classic Car Auction with some great results in an uneasy market. The spotlight was firmly on Ford muscle cars, which stole the show and dominated the bidding.

Leading the charge was a beautifully presented 1973 Ford XA GT RPO83, which attracted fierce bidding before finding a new home with a passionate enthusiast. Also turning heads was an iconic Ford XB John Goss Special Coupe, a standout example of 1970s Australian motoring history, which achieved a strong result.

Another highlight was a special order Ford XA GT, notable for its rare specification 1 of 1 color, which drew significant national interest and ultimately sold to a discerning collector.

These headline results were backed by a solid range of sales across a variety of marques, reinforcing the strong demand for quality, unmolested Australian classics.

Director Daniel Lamprell said, “We’re seeing a continued shift away from speculative buyers and back toward genuine collectors who understand the long-term value of these cars. It’s a great sign for the future of the market.”

The team now turns its attention to the May Auction, with entries already being consigned.
