FEBRUARY 2026 | 92% CLEARANCE RATE

Chicane Auctions' February 2026 Classic Car Auction delivered a strong opening to the year, achieving a 92% clearance rate, with 12 of the 13 vehicles offered finding new owners.

Featuring a diverse selection of Australian muscle cars, American classics, rare factory right-hand-drive vehicles and modified performance cars, the auction attracted buyer interest across several segments of the collector car market.

Among the standout results was a rare factory right-hand-drive 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback GT, which achieved $126,000, while a 1968 Dodge Charger sold for $100,000. A beautifully presented 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Two-Door also attracted strong interest, selling for $96,000.

Australian Ford muscle cars were well represented, headlined by a genuine 1970 Ford Falcon XY GT, which sold for an undisclosed amount at the vendor's request. A 1970 Ford Falcon XW GT-HO Phase II Tribute achieved $88,500, while a desirable 1970 Ford Fairmont XW Y-Code V8 sold for $80,250.

Further Australian Ford results included a modified 1969 Ford Fairmont XT powered by a 408ci Windsor V8, achieving $66,000, and a remarkably preserved, one-owner 1969 Ford Falcon XW selling for $38,750.

Australian Holden and Chrysler performance vehicles also found new owners, with a 1972 Chrysler Valiant Charger VH E37 R/T Tribute selling for $75,500, alongside a 1985 Holden VK V8 Manual achieving $46,000.

American collector vehicles included an iconic turbocharged 1986 Buick Grand National, which achieved $54,000, while a 1960 Cadillac Coupe de Ville, converted to right-hand drive, also sold for an undisclosed amount.

The February results further demonstrated Chicane Auctions' ability to research, present and market a broad range of classic, muscle, performance and rare collector vehicles, supported by professional showroom presentation, detailed vehicle descriptions and targeted national marketing.
