MAY 2025 | COLLECTOR, PERFORMANCE & RARE CAR AUCTION

Chicane Auctions' May 2025 Classic Car Auction delivered several outstanding results, featuring a diverse selection of Australian muscle cars, American classics, European sports cars and Japanese performance vehicles.

Headlining the auction was a genuine Yellow Ochre Ford Falcon XY GT, achieving $300,000 plus Buyer's Premium, highlighting continued collector demand for well-presented examples of Australia's most iconic performance Fords.

Holden muscle was also strongly represented, with a 1968 Holden HK Monaro GTS 327 Bathurst achieving $185,000, while a genuine 1973 Ford Falcon XA GT RPO83 Hardtop sold also. Both results demonstrated buyer interest in historically significant Australian muscle cars.

European collector vehicles featured prominently, led by a classic 1974 Porsche 911 S, which achieved $95,000, alongside a Mercedes-Benz 380SL Roadster selling for $38,000.

Other notable results included a highly original 1978 Holden HZ GTS, achieving $66,750, and a professionally built Ford Falcon XA GT Tribute Ute, which sold for $55,500.

The auction also featured a rare Mazda RX-7 Savanna Group C-inspired performance car, further demonstrating Chicane Auctions' growing involvement in Japanese collector and motorsport-inspired vehicles.
